Burning Bush Peperomia
Peperomia Burning Bush
The Burning Bush Peperomia is a compact, fiery little showstopper that stores water in its thick, succulent-like leaves, keeping cool even when you forget it for a couple of weeks. Its glossy green leaves with striking red edges light up small corners, making it a perfect plant for desks, shelves, or cozy nooks. Totally low-maintenance, it forgives the occasional neglect with grace.
Growth: Slow and steady, adding about 10–15 centimeters per year. Propagates easily through leaf or stem cuttings. No fuss, no drama.
Fun Facts: The thick, fleshy leaves act as natural water reservoirs, making this plant practically drought-proof. Thrives in loose, nutrient-rich soil and enjoys a bit of humidity. A light mist now and then makes the leaves shine like a mini spa treatment.
Toxicity: Not toxic. Safe around pets and children, so curious cats and kids can admire it without turning it into a disaster.
Beginners and the chronically forgetful. Like a true survivor, it powers through with bare-minimum tending.
East- or west-facing window for bright, indirect light (filtered sunlight only, as direct sun scorches leaves). It prefers 18–24°C with moderate humidity (40–60%), benefiting from weekly misting to enhance leaf shine and prevent tips from drying.
